Your Life Purpose is a sacred journey up the mountain to Great Spirit
I want to share a recent experience of mine that was an inner “vision quest” because it relates to our desire to find, clarify and give new life to our purpose.
Several months ago I was asking guidance to give me clearer direction for the next phase of my life and my work. Perhaps you are also asking the same questions.
And so when I am gifted with a truly meaningful teaching from Spirit, I often share my experience when I feel it can help us amplify the “light” that we each need in order to honor our own path and find our direction most clearly.
In this experience, I found myself on a journey and it wasn’t clear initially where I was going. I was wandering along through low-lying brush when I came upon a scene that shocked me into silence. There, in the near distance, to my horror was a fire with a deer being roasted on a spit.
To begin with, we have deer on our property, animal friends, who have become symbols of forgiveness and giving. The scene I was viewing wasn’t suggesting a homey little picture of a hunter about to feed his family in a good way. No, this was definitely an image meant to suggest destruction of the obvious—the physical—depicted in the form of a deer’s body.
I wondered if this image in my mind’s eye meant that I was going to die. But then I heard a voice from Spirit telling me, “allow the physical to fall away—it is not You.”
Spirit’s voice was assuring me that I was safe and simply needing to trust without paying attention to what physical circumstances seemed to suggest. My new opportunity was, in fact, to overcome obstacles and stay in belief that I would arrive at the cave of the Great Spirit in order to then be awakened to “the message I was to take to the people.”
You, too, have "a message for the people," in other words, you have your unique way to express your gifts and talents to contribute to creating a better world.
